Arvindji,

Retirement is only from a job......it should not be from life.
There is so much more that you are now free to do........find out things about yrself and do what you have always wanted to do, simple things not necessarily things that cost a lot..........with the love of yr life at your side I am sure you will find the support that you need, so keep being your optimistic self and start enjoying life from now......
all the best and God bless

Hi,   I  really  felt  these  words.   I  retired  one  year  back  and
feeling  side-lined   by  all,   may  be  because  I  am  not
super  human  any more !   My  monthly  salary  with  perks  has
stopped  and  I'm  a  full time  Husband  now  with  no  holidays !
I  can not  splurge,  nor  can  I  insist  my  wishes !
I  am  an  optimist   who  has  lived  a  wonderful  life.
The  life's  last  turn  should  be  the  best  turn !
Best  Regards.  GOD  BLESS.

Thanks UshaS

Yes, seeing such people moves me too very much, especially when they are old and helpless and being disrespected and ill treated......

Lakshmi..

Thats a wonderful poem... marriage is a gamble, have heard many people say, its heaven when everything is fine, its hell when things do not go right.. for men as well as women. Your poem reflects that. So beautifully written and very moving..

Thnx for the good words and yes, the sad part is that even if they want to just live on, their lives are made a misery in their sunset years...

Very very well written Lakshmi,

I can only visualise those men who have retired and do not know what to do with their lives.  This reminds me of them.
